:: The world just became a little more beautiful ::

Malia is here!! Malia Rae Jimenez arrived into this world on May 27th at 10:01pm. She came in at a healthy 7lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches.

After seeing my due date come and go I was getting a bit antsy to meet the little girl who had grown in my belly for 10 months.  So my doctor set up an induction date, thursday May 27th at 1:00pm.  Hoping she would come before the induction date I tried to power walk her out, no dice. So at 12:30 on thursday my mom, Teo and I hopped in the car and headed off to Kaiser Zion to have a baby!

I had been having braxton hicks contractions for some time now, but just felt tightening, no pain.  We were checked in at 2pm and low and behold I was already 4cm dialated, whoo hoo!  My first nurse Iliana was amazing, so sweet and made my stay awesome.  All of the nurses at Kaiser were wonderful and caring, which made my experience so special.  Back to the labor, I started Pitocen at 2:30pm and by 3:20pm my contractions were 2-3 mintues apart, still no pain.  At 5:15pm I was 5cm dilated and still pain free. By this time I was waiting for the pain to start anytime and at 7:25pm I started to feel a little bit.  Even though the pain was little, I knew I wanted an epidural, I didn't want to feel a thing when it came to pushing!  So right on time walks Woody, the magic man with the epidural.  Ahhh, I feel great....

At 8:12pm I was I was 7cm and the nurse midwife Susan broke my bag of waters.  About an hour later I was feeling pressure and knew Malia was getting ready to make her entrance into the world. When the nurse finally came in around 9:30 I asked her to check me and I was 10cm!  After pushing for about 10-15 minutes Malia arrived at 10:01pm, oh happy day!!  She is the spitting image of Evan, I like to say Evan with a bow :) P.S. My times are so exact because my mom took notes, what a good grandma.

It was priceless seeing Evan meet his sister. He had been waiting up at home with grandpa. My dad told him to change into his jammies, but he said "I can't go to the hospital in my pajamas".  Eventually my dad coaxed him to go to bed in his jammies.  My dad heard him moving around a bit later and went to check on him, there he was changing into his pants and shirt with his backpack on, ready to go to the hospital :)  When Evan saw Malia he said, "Her hair looks like seaweed!"  Ahh, out of the mouth of babes.  Evan was so loving, talking in a sweet voice saying, "I'm Evan, I'm your big brother."

Well that's the story of one of the happiest days of my life. Teo and I couldn't be more blessed. We are so proud of our loving and wonderful kids. Thanks to everyone who has sent us messages and well wishes, we are so grateful for all of your love.

:: Rock 105.3 Pregnant Bikini Contest::

When I heard this years rock 105.3 pregnant bikini contest was May 7th, I jumped at the chance show off my big belly and hopefully win $1,000! I was 9 1/2 months pregnant and praying my water wouldn't break on stage. So with the support of my friends and family I headed off to PB Bar and Grill to compete amongst 45 other mamas in their third trimester, hoping to become "Missed Period 2010". Although I was the most nervous I've ever been, I was pretty proud of myself when I won 3rd and got $100! I can't wait to tell Malia she was in a contest with me, and one day long ago her mother was cool :)
