:: Nacho, Undies and our new Trellis ::

I wanted to share some funny pics of the kids and our new patio trellis, that Teo just whipped together in a few hours (he continues to AMAZE me)! Not only is he an awesome husband, but a talented carpenter too, sheesh how lucky am I! Also our friends Kendy and Tony came over to have dinner, read Malia some books and played with the kiddos.

Evan is still obsessed with Nacho Libre (below he is wearing a costume that my mom made him, he wears it daily :) He can quote almost the whole movie, I'm thinking he'll like acting in school, he's always quoting movie lines.

:: Bear Paw in Sequoia ::

I was fortunate to go on a 23 mile round trip hike with my mom and 2 other wonderful women, Katie and shelley, this past week to the Bear Paw Camp.  Grandpa was brave and watched the kiddos for a few days so I could help my mom celebrate her 60th birthday.  The views on our hike were breathtaking and the Bear Paw Camp itself was AMAZING! A previous entry into the camp journal said it best, "I hope heaven is half as nice." I managed to gain weight on the trip because of the delicious food and ever lasting plate of brownies the staff made.  Comfy beds, the brillant view, and the wonderful company made for a trip I will never forget!

:: Weaver Lake ~ Sequoia ::

We went on Evan and Malia's first backpack trip up to Weaver Lake in Sequoia National Park last week and it was beautiful!  We went with my parents, my brother Keith and my nephew Kai. Daddy had to stay and work, (thanks dad!) so we missed him.  The trip was 6 1/2 miles round trip and Evan and Kai did amazing (well 99% of the time, the last hill was hard for Evan). Evan caught his first fish, Malia turned into a dirt squirrel and we enjoyed the most beautiful moon and sunset I've ever seen.  Next time we'll have to take daddy :)

:: Palm Springs ~ Great grandma's Birthday::

This july we went to Palm Springs to celebrate my grandma's 82nd Birthday!! My grandma is such a beautiful person, she is sweet, funny and Stunning! She walks 4 miles a day and has for years and years and makes sure to drink her 8 glasses of water a day :)  While in Palm Springs we enjoyed the pool and a breathtaking tram ride to San Jacinto state park, where we enjoyed a nice hike. It was great being with my grandma for her birthday, she inspires me to lead a healthy, happy life.
